The first monthly GWC board meeting was on Wednesday January 3, 2018.
Special Guest Speaker
Jim Wondolleck, Captain of the North Bay Radio Controlled Sailing Club (NBRCSC).
These fine sailors race their RC sailboats on the waters of the Civic Center lagoon. Big Fun to watch, as they are not against cutting off the competition as their boats tack madly around the buoys.
Who is NBRCSC?
Sailors & hobbyists playing the game of sailboat racing. Their energy source comes from wind and wave activity. Hobbyists who enjoy tinkering with gear, looking for the next innovation that will enable a more efficient performance for RC boats.
NBRCSC represents everyone from the beginning sailor and or hobbyist to the highest ranked skippers in the Country. Members enjoy local club events as well as traveling about the US and the World to compete. The club was represented by two members in the 2017 World Championships in France.
NBRCSC is a local Marin County organization with home bases at the Marin Civic Center Pond and Loch Lomond harbor. NBRCSC has three main classes of boats and hold monthly events for each, mostly at the Marin Civic Center.
NBRCSC strongly support the cleanup and maintenance of water quality in any and all bodies of water, and in this case, especially the Marin Civic Center Lagoon. Members launch and retrieve boats by wading knee deep in water along the shore. NBRCSC supports GWC in the goal of clean bodies of water for the whole community.
