Join Our “Island Getaway” Adventure!

Where: Marin Civic Center Lagoon
Our Civic Center Watershed Restoration project (CCWR) has been successfully maintaining the two floating island biofilters in the Marin Civic Center lagoon since 2015.
Now we are calling all our volunteers!
The 10 foot wide Floating Island “got away” from its anchor during the Marin County Fair. Join the adventure on Sunday August 19 as we tow the island to shore, trim the native vegetation, fix the anchors and cables, and finally tow it back into the lagoon and re-anchor it where it belongs.

Even if you can’t make the entire time, please RSVP and come down when you can.
If you have them please bring pruners for trimming or a tool box for working on the cables. Gloves, hats, water bottles, towels and hand sanitizer are also important to have.
Because of the bacteria in the water, young children are not advised to attend this event.
