Bike the Watershed 3
The Gallinas Watershed Council visited China Camp State Park on their annual bike ride through the watershed.
On our 3rd Annual GWC “BIKE THE WATERSHED” Bicycle Tour took us from Santa Venetia to China Camp Village for the annual Heritage Day event that takes place in China Camp Village.
In China Camp we met several volunteers working with Friends of China Camp (FOCC)
Thank you FOCC! We really enjoyed the cultural, historical and environmental activities of Heritage Day. We even got to see historic boats including the Grace Quan, a reproduction Chinese Junk.
We start and end up at Adrian Rosal Park in Santa Venetia, and after the ride there was a BBQ and we even gave away some prizes!
BIKE THE WATERSHED is a FREE event.
Donations of $5 or more are appreciated.
Along the way to China Camp Village we stopped at a few locations to discuss the watershed and its inhabitants:
- McPhail’s Pond
- Sanders Oak Tree
- China Camp Campground – introduction by Host Grace Gardener
- Visitor Center / Ranger Station – visit new museum
- China Camp Village – attend HERITAGE DAY festivities
- Buckeye Point
- Bucks Launching
